Job summary

AHRC New York City is seeking an Outreach and Retention Specialist for the Queens Train and Earn Career Pathways Program funded by the NYC DYCD. The role focuses on participant recruitment, program retention, and building relationships with community partners across the city.

Location: Long Island City, Queens. Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm. Compensation: $50,000–$55,000 yearly with a robust benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Establish relationships with community partners
• Conduct information session presentations with community partners
• Travel citywide to community events and public meetings
• Maintain new relationships between the community and AHRC NYC, including business connections and internship sites
• Engage community to support participant achievement and align resources
• Support DYCD case managers in maintaining relationships with program participants to encourage retention
• Provide trauma-informed case management services and maintain detailed case notes and reporting
• Participate in team meetings to discuss updates and strategies for service delivery
• Serve as liaison between staff, participants, families, and service providers
• Onboard participants and be the primary contact for those exploring the DYCD program
• Facilitate information sessions about the program (in-person and virtual)
• Facilitate onboarding for all DYCD participants and ensure required paperwork is completed
• Document and report outreach and direct service activities timely
• Track and report on outreach efforts and adapt strategies based on feedback
• Attend regular check-in meetings to review progress, challenges, and new initiatives
• Meet or exceed program recruitment targets
• Collaborate with the Program Director on outreach campaign strategies and marketing content
• Engage in ongoing professional development for outreach best practices
• Undertake additional tasks as requested
• Attend program-wide events as required
• Perform other duties within the scope of the role
