Job summary

The ACAP PREP Youth Coordinator position in Alexandria, VA leads planning and implementing youth outreach activities related to the ACAP PREP Grant. Qualifications

• Four-year college degree in public or business administration or related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in social work, public health, communications or related field is preferred.
• Fluent and bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support PREP Grant Manager and partners in coordinating parent education meetings/orientations and programs.
• Facilitate weekly Peer Advocate meetings at ACPS campuses or City Recreation Centers.
• Supervise weekly after-school Peer Advocate sessions at multiple sites in Alexandria.
• Plan and implement outreach events and initiatives with Peer Advocates.
• Recruit, hire, train and supervise ten youth Peer Advocates.
• Develop performance goals and evaluate Peer Advocates quarterly.
• Partner with coordinators to train youth in peer-education on teen pregnancy/STI prevention and related topics.
• Create workshops with Peer Advocates on teen pregnancy/STI prevention and youth development.
• Attend PREP meetings and trainings as assigned and provide youth engagement updates.
