Qualifications

• MLIS from an ALA-accredited program.
• 1–3 years’ experience working with youth.
• Strong customer-service and independent work skills.
• Ability to plan and deliver youth programs and outreach.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-level customer service and assist customers in person, by phone, email, and chat.
• Develop and promote teen and children’s programs aligned with the Young Minds strategy.
• Provide readers’ advisory and use knowledge of the collection and resources.
• Train staff and customers in databases, digital resources, and reference tools.
• Lead collection management and merchandizing for youth materials.
• Promote the library through community outreach with schools and youth organizations.
• Supervise volunteers and practicum students.
• May participate in local, state, and national conferences.
• Ensure operation of the location in absence of a manager.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
