Job summary

Columbus Metropolitan Library is seeking a Youth Services Specialist at the Linden Branch to engage youth through reading, conversation, and program promotion. The role is 20 hours per week, non-exempt, with starting pay between $18.01 and $23.26 per hour, depending on experience.

Responsibilities include greeting youth, linking them to books, reading with them, and supporting library programs and technology access. Strong emphasis on inclusive service and community engagement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience working with youth required.
• Ability to operate library technology including PC and software.

Responsibilities

• Greet youth and caregivers and engage them in conversations and activities.
• Connect youth with books and reading level appropriate titles.
• Read with youth individually or in small groups.
• Support youth programming and Summer Reading Challenge.
• Assist customers with public technology.
