Job summary

Abode Communities is seeking a Part Time Program Leader at La Veranda in Los Angeles to assist the Resident Services Coordinator with the after-school program and the Beyond Homes initiative. You will help run activities for youth ages 5-17, support College Awareness and the Computer Lab, and assist with summer programs.

The role emphasizes connecting residents to resources, promoting wellness, and maintaining program records in a low-income housing context.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience with children or people from diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to work independently and meet goals in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Homework assistance and one to one tutoring when applicable.
• Encourage reading and math to boost academic achievement.
• Be a positive role model, mentor, and leader.
• Maintain open communication with parents and Abode Communities staff.
• Keep records of activities and attendance.
• Document and track program activities via the program database.
• Develop and lead special projects with youth and children.
• Attend trainings as needed.
• Support Beyond Homes outreach and community-building activities.
• Follow-up to resident needs as directed by the RSC.
