Job summary

Boys- in Suitland-Silver Hill, MD is looking for a part-time youth program assistant to support Education, Social Recreation, Arts & Crafts, and Physical Education.

You will help create a safe, engaging environment, promote participation, mentor youth, and assist with registration, facilities, and reporting. CPR/First Aid certification and a valid driver's license are required. This role collaborates with staff and volunteers to deliver quality programs for ages 6–18 at the branch.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Experience working with children.
• Ability to operate recent technology and mobile apps (Tik Tok, Class Dojo, Instagram).
• Knowledge of youth development.
• Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior.
• Ability to deal with the general public.
• Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth.
• Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.
• CPR and First Aid Certifications.
• Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Create a SAFE environment that facilitates youth development outcomes.
• Promote program participation and ensure five key elements daily.
• Provide guidance and act as a role model / mentor to youth.
• Maintain facilities and equipment and report issues to supervisor.
• Communicate with staff, volunteers, and parents about operations.
• Prepare activity reports and participate in weekly branch meetings.
• Support other unit activities and events as necessary.
