Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington is seeking a role to support and direct activities across focused programs for youth ages 6-18. The position emphasizes creating a safe, engaging environment and mentoring youth while overseeing health and safety in club activities.

Responsibilities include implementing programs, promoting participation, and coordinating with staff and volunteers. CPR/First Aid and a valid driver's license are required; a high school diploma or GED is essential.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Experience in working with children.
  • Ability to operate recent technology and mobile applications (Tik Tok, Class Dojo, Instagram, and more).
  • Knowledge of youth development.
  • Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.
  • Ability to deal with the general public.
  • Mandatory CPR and First Aid Certifications.
  • Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support and direction for activities in Education, Social Recreation, Arts & Crafts, and Physical Education.
  • Promote program participation and ensure positive youth development elements daily: Fun, Supportive Relationships, Safe and Positive Environment, and recognition.
  • Implement and administer programs for drop-in members and visitors ages 6-18 and monitor safety and quality.
  • Prepare periodic activity reports and participate in weekly branch staff meetings.
  • Assist in new member registration and orientation.
  • Maintain facilities and equipment to ensure a productive and clean work environment.
