Job summary

Goodman Community Center in Madison, Wisconsin, seeks a High School Program Coordinator to join our youth programs team. This full-time role focuses on hands-on work with high school‑aged youth in afterschool and summer programs, building relationships and guiding activities.

The position emphasizes supervision, life skills coaching, and program planning, with a regular 11:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. schedule, some weekends, and driving responsibilities in a 14-passenger van. Benefits eligible.

Qualifications

• Experience working with middle or high school‑aged youth in any setting.
• Ability to connect with teens while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to drive a 14‑passenger van.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, email).
• Availability for the 11:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. weekday schedule and occasional weekends.
• Ability to complete required background checks.

Responsibilities

• Build positive, consistent relationships with high school‑aged youth.
• Supervise and engage teens during daily programming, field trips, and activities.
• Facilitate activities focused on academics, life skills, employment readiness, health, and college/career exploration.
• Coach teens in employment and work-based learning experiences.
• Help youth build social‑emotional skills and navigate conflicts.
• Create a safe, inclusive, welcoming environment for participation.
• Assist with activity prep, spaces, materials, meals, snacks, and trips.
• Track attendance and complete routine program documentation.
