Job summary

Central Lincoln County YMCA in Maine seeks a dedicated staff member to support youth and community programming with a focus on safety, sanitation, and supervision. You will work closely with a supervisor to implement activities, create engaging curricula, and ensure a welcoming environment for children and families.

The role requires CPR/First Aid within 60 days, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• CPR and First Aid certification within 60 days of hire.
• Team player with superb interpersonal skills.
• Self-starter able to multi-task, work independently, adapt to changing circumstances.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn new software.
• 16+ years old.

Responsibilities

• Commit to the YMCA’s mission, vision and values and promote healthy living, social responsibility, and youth development.
• Work with supervisor to create and implement procedures, programs or curriculum.
• Deliver safe, quality programming; plan activities and lessons; set up materials; clean up afterwards.
• Supervise and engage participants; report behavior concerns to Thrive coordinator.
• Maintain a clean, safe program environment and organized storage areas.
• Ensure hygiene and sanitization; supervise handwashing and sanitized spaces.
• Check children in/out according to policy.
• Follow childcare licensing rules.
• Build authentic relationships and connect participants to the YMCA.
• As a Mandated Reporter, recognize signs of abuse or neglect and report appropriately.
