Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida is seeking a Youth Development Specialist to support program development and youth engagement at the Tangelo Park club. This part-time role emphasizes safety, age-appropriate activities, and strong relationships with youth, families, staff, and volunteers.

The YDS will guide daily program activities, track attendance and progress, and help deliver BGCCF core pillars, including academic success, healthy lifestyles, and social-emotional well-being.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or GED is required; an associate's degree is preferred.
  • Experience with youth in educational or development settings is preferred.
  • Ability to plan, develop, and implement age-appropriate programs.
  • Trauma-informed, strengths-based approach to youth development.
  • Strong verbal and written communication; inclusive with diverse backgrounds.
  • Willingness to obtain CPR/First Aid certification within 90 days.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate activities in the assigned program area.
  • Provide active and engaged presence to support youth development and safety.
  • Collect and track attendance and progress; participate in staff meetings.
  • Set up and supervise daily program activities; ensure safety guidelines.
  • Maintain records and reporting of events, participation, and outcomes.
