Job summary

BlueGreen Alliance Inc. in Orlando is seeking a Youth Development Specialist to support Club Leadership in delivering an Outcome-Driven Club Experience across core pillars such as academic success, character development, health, arts, sports, and wellbeing.

The YDS works with youth to ensure safety and development through interactive activities, maintaining boundaries, adapting to a dynamic environment, and coordinating daily programs and evaluations under the supervision of the Service

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required; an associate's degree in education or youth development is preferred.
• Some experience working or volunteering with youth in an educational or development setting is preferred.
• Ability to plan, develop, and implement high-quality, age-appropriate programs for youth, emphasizing academic success, character development, and healthy lifestyles.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to motivate and inspire youth positively, creating an educational environment.
• Willingness to learn and support innovative ideas for the Club and its members; flexibility in approach.
• Proficiency in trauma-informed, strengths-based problem-solving.
• Experience working with diverse cultures and backgrounds; commitment to inclusivity.
• Strong verbal and written communication with staff, youth, parents, and partners.
• Ability to build positive working relationships with staff, volunteers, and external stakeholders.
• Basic proficiency in data collection and reporting; track attendance and participation.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate activities in the assigned program area.
• Ensure facilities, equipment and supplies are maintained; report issues to the supervisor.
• Review program supply inventory and request orders promptly.
• Facilitate Club-specific and BGCA core programs as directed by the Supervisor.
• Provide active presence to promote safe, healthy Club environments and positive youth development.
• Deliver coaching conversations and redirection to guide youth behavior.
• Model and teach self-confidence and self-awareness while building supportive relationships.
• Collect and track attendance, coursework, and behavior data as needed.
• Participate in staff meetings and training events.
• Set up and clean program areas daily; share daily agenda and expectations.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and program pillars.
