Job summary

The Salvation Army Red Shield Youth Center in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Program Coordinator to help plan, implement and supervise youth programs and activities. You will train staff and volunteers, monitor program quality and safety standards, and work with leadership to promote positive educational outcomes for youth.

You will develop weekly plans, coordinate transportation where needed, and collaborate with center teams to ensure engaging and well-run programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in business, accounting, or social services.
• Two years’ progressively responsible experience in program management and operation of a youth center.
• Three years’ experience in a similar youth serving organization or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assists Program Leaders in daily administration and leadership of center-wide program curriculum and activities; ensures safety and drive outcomes.
• Develops, posts and promotes weekly and monthly program plans to encourage and grow participation.
• Recognizes and encourages youth participation and achievement; promotes awareness in program areas and guidance to develop skills.
• Trains and supervises volunteers and staff delivering program activities; maintains weekly staff meetings.
• Ensures safety standards, data integrity, and collaboration with leadership to support programs.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in business, accounting, or social services

Two years’ progressively responsible experience in program management, administration and operation of a youth after school center or out of school time center

Three years’ experience working in a similar youth serving organization
