Job summary

Lancaster County Government is seeking a part-time Recreation Coordinator for the Recreation Center. The role oversees after-school, senior, and summer camp programs, plans daily activities, supervises staff, and ensures participant safety.

You will register participants, reconcile funds, and maintain accurate attendance and timecard records while supporting program marketing and community liaison efforts. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years of recreation programming or related experience.
• CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Background check and drug screening required.
• Valid South Carolina driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise after-school programs, senior programs, and summer day camps.
• Plan, direct, and implement daily program activities and events.
• Register participants using recreation software; reconcile funds and deposits.
• Maintain attendance, registration, payments, and timecards; ensure forms are complete.
• Communicate policies to participants and parents; enforce discipline policies.
• Assist with marketing and promotion of programs; maintain supplies.
• Work indoors with occasional outdoor activities; interact with children, families, and volunteers.
