Job summary

City of Lompoc seeks a part-time Recreation Leader to supervise and run recreation programs for youths aged 6-14 at a community site. You will issue and manage equipment, conduct safety checks, and help prepare facilities for playground and special programs.

You will also lead games, arts and crafts, sports, drama and dance activities and assist with event planning. Qualifications include the ability to plan youth programs, basic math and communication skills, and a First Aid/CPR background is

Qualifications

• Training, education and experience in recreation leadership accepted.
• Spanish speaking skills are desirable.
• Ability to plan recreational programs for youths aged 6-14 years.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, plans, organizes and conducts recreation programs for youngsters 6-14.
• Manages issuance and use of recreation equipment; conducts safety and maintenance inspections.
• Leads activities and may organize special contests, games, music, arts and crafts, sports, drama and dance.
• Maintains paperwork and prepares oral and written reports; attends meetings.
