The Embrace Initiative at the University of Maryland, Baltimore has an exciting opportunity for a Youth Program Specialist (Community Program Specialist) who will serve under the supervision of our Youth Programming Director. The Youth Specialist supports the successful implementation and oversight of youth programming by supervising the work of and coaching Youth Mentors, ensuring services are delivered with fidelity to program goals and best practices. This position monitors participant data collection and timely data entry to support program evaluation, compliance, and continuous quality improvement. The Youth Specialist works closely with community partners, schools, and service providers to coordinate services, strengthen collaborative relationships, and ensure youth receive high-quality, trauma-informed support. Through active supervision, program monitoring, and partnership engagement, the Youth Specialist helps create a safe, engaging, and impactful environment. This position requires the ability to work evenings and weekends as necessary.

UMB is a public university and constituent institution of the University System of Maryland. All employees are expected to work primarily physically within the State of Maryland.
Education: Bachelor's degree. Degree in social sciences, such as social work or psychology preferred.
Experience: Two (2) years of community program coordination, development, oversight, or administration.
Other: Related experience to program may be substituted for education.
Knowledge of position requirements. Knowledge of all applicable requirements, regulations, and laws. Skill in effective use of applicable technology/systems. Ability to effectively communicate both verbal and written thoughts, ideas, and facts. Ability to work cooperatively with others and independently. Ability to demonstrate, understand, apply, and adhere to the UMB Core Values of Respect and Integrity, Well-being and Sustainability, Equity and Justice, and Innovation and Discovery.
$60,500 - $64,000, commensurate with education and experience.
