Job summary

Merrimack Valley YMCA is seeking a Program Instructor to lead youth activities in a safe, motivating environment. You will work under the Youth & Family Program Director to deliver developmentally appropriate curriculum and support participants, families and volunteers.

We emphasize safety, teamwork and the YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Training hours and branch events are part of the role, with opportunities to grow within the organization.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Maintain current CPR certification and First Aid throughout employment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrate strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to promote YMCA mission, values and safety.
• Lift up to 40 lbs and be able to stand/move for shift hours.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum with program director.
• Maintain cleanliness and appearance of the classroom.
• Prioritize safety and emotional well-being of all participants.
• Demonstrate YMCA character values in daily work.
• Collaborate with other instructors and staff to support programs.
• Attend training hours and participate in branch events.
