Job summary

BronxWorks in New York City seeks a dedicated youth program facilitator to lead after-school and summer activities for teens aged 13 to 17. You will create a nurturing environment, supervise participants, and collaborate with Activity Specialists to deliver engaging lessons, literacy and STEM enrichment, and leadership development.

You will coordinate with families, attend staff meetings, and participate in safety trainings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree preferred.
• At least two years of direct experience working with children under age 13.
• Necessary content knowledge, experience, and skills to effectively implement the program activities.
• Experience with or knowledge of Whole Language teaching philosophy preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise participant groups and create and implement activities.
• Create a nurturing and supportive environment for the youth.
• Supervise participants and implement recreational, educational, social and team-building activities.
• Provide classroom management and instruction; act as a liaison with parents.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings; meet monthly with program coordinators.
