Job summary

BronxWorks is seeking a Youth Worker to support adolescent development programs in Bronx, NY. You will lead activities, supervise groups, and collaborate with staff to provide a safe, engaging after-school and summer program for teens.

The role emphasizes literacy, life skills, and enrichment activities for youth aged 13–17, with responsibilities including lesson planning, family liaison, attendance records, and safety training participation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years of direct experience working with children under age 13 years.
• Necessary content knowledge, experience, and skills to effectively implement the program activities.
• Experience with or knowledge of Whole Language teaching philosophy preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise participant groups and create activities.
• Create a nurturing and supportive environment for the youth.
• Supervise participants and implement activities.
• Provide classroom management and instruction.
• Attend staff training sessions and meetings.
• Meet monthly with program coordinator or director for supervision.
