YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking a part-time Youth Program Coordinator in Sumner, WA. The role supports the Youth Program Director by coordinating, planning, and implementing youth programming, events, and activities at Gordon Family YMCA.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years in a program area, strong organizational and communication skills, and CPR/First Aid/AED certifications. The position offers part-time hours up to 25 per week with benefits and employee discounts.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of direct experience in the program area preferred.
• Minimum of one year coordinating people or activities preferred.
• Positive attitude with experience with varying ages and diverse populations.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of program safety standards and current trends; ability to apply them.
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications.
• Must pass Background and Reference checks per WA State Fair Chance Act.
• Committed to diversity and inclusive environment.
• Able to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day and other trainings as required.

Responsibilities

• Follow all program standards and guidelines.
• Assist in coordinating department and program events.
• Maintain positive communication with program participants.
• Communicate program information and progress as relevant.

• Instruct classes as scheduled and provide substitutes as needed.
• Lead program activities and trainings within the Center assigned.
• Provide administrative assistance to the Program Director and Department.
• Update and prepare program schedules, communication, and resources.
• Manage class registration functions as assigned.
• Assist with managing coverage and overall schedule to ensure positive program experience.
• Effectively engage volunteers and staff to provide quality programming for participants.
• Cultivate positive relationships to influence a positive staff and volunteer experience.

Position:Youth Program Coordinator

Wage:$20.60 to $20.75 per hour (Compensation is determined based on relevant experience, skills, and qualifications, with most new hires starting between the minimum and midpoint of the posted wage range)

Hours:Part-Time, Up to 25 hours per week

Location:Gordon Family YMCA, Sumner, WA
