Job summary

The Northwest Portland Area Indian Health Board in Portland, Oregon is seeking a Prevention Coordinator to plan, implement, and evaluate behavioral health and substance misuse prevention activities across the Youth Primary Prevention programs.

You will serve as a central liaison among staff, contractors, and Tribal partners, organize trainings, schedule meetings, and promote culturally appropriate prevention strategies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in public health, behavioral health, prevention science, or related field.
• Minimum two years of experience in public health or a related field.
• Experience working with Tribes or Tribal health programs is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of prevention principles, environmental or systems-change approaches.

Responsibilities

• Plans, implements, and evaluates behavioral health and substance misuse prevention activities for Youth Primary Prevention programs.
• Serves as a central liaison among staff, contractors, and Northwest Tribal partners to facilitate communication and trainings.
• Organizes training, schedules preparatory meetings, and supports cross-team collaboration.
• Promotes culturally responsive, high-quality prevention services and community well-being.
• Coordinates day-to-day operations and ensures timely service delivery.
