Job summary

Child & Family Focus, Inc. seeks a Prevention Specialist for the Delaware County, PA-based Drug and Alcohol Prevention Education Program (PEP).

The role blends remote and in-person services, with one in-office day per week and possible evening/weekend hours based on caseload. You will deliver evidence-based programs for youth and families, develop outreach materials, and participate in community events to promote prevention and reduce substance use.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Health Promotion, Psychology, Human Development, or related field
• One or more years of experience as a Prevention Specialist or in prevention/health education

Responsibilities

• Deliver evidenced-based, caregiver- and family-focused prevention programs (e.g., LifeSkills Training, SAAF) in school, community, justice, and office settings.
• Deliver youth-focused prevention programs (e.g., LST, TGFD, Unity Circle) in various venues.
• Provide Teen Intervene as needed for at-risk youth.
• Complete and maintain documentation (attendance sheets, pre/post surveys).
• Develop materials for program delivery using Canva and PowerPoint.
• Assist in outreach and marketing to schools and community organizations.
• Participate in health fairs, coalition meetings, and community events to promote prevention and reduce substance use.
• Meet productivity goals set by Delaware County DHS, Division of Drug and Alcohol.
• Communicate and collaborate with team members and leadership.
• Stay updated on alcohol/tobacco/other drug trends and apply Trauma-Informed Care values.
