Job summary

Cumberland Perry Drug & Alcohol Commission seeks a Prevention Specialist to coordinate evidence-based prevention and early-intervention services across Cumberland and Perry Counties. You will collaborate with schools, coalitions, and community partners while providing training, data-driven planning, and public outreach.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field, at least one year of prevention experience, and completion of required clearances. Evening/weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in health education or related field.
• Preferred Certified Prevention Specialist or willingness to complete certification within 12 months.
• Minimum of one year of experience in drug and alcohol prevention.
• Clearances from PA State Police, FBI, PA Child Abuse Registry, and OIG/ Federal exclusions must be maintained.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver evidence-based prevention, education, and early-intervention services.
• Collaborate with schools, coalitions, and community partners to strengthen prevention capacity.
• Provide training and technical assistance on ATOD prevention and harm-reduction practices.
• Document services and ensure regulatory compliance.
