Job summary

YMCA in Sutton, MA seeks a Part-Time Play & Learn Group Facilitator to lead playgroups for children aged birth to 6 and support their parents or caregivers. Under supervision, guide activities aligned with MA Early Learning Standards, connecting families with community resources.

The role emphasizes welcoming environments, interactive read-alouds, music and movement, and data collection for the grant. Schedule: 2 hours/week. Pay: $16.00/hour, with YMCA facilities access and sick leave benefits.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in early childhood education or related field or minimum 2 years experience working with young children.
• Able to interact and communicate effectively with parents, children and staff.
• Able to implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities.
• Must obtain CPR, First Aid, and Child Abuse Prevention certification within first 30 days of hire.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Create a warm and welcoming environment for all children, parents and families.
• Assist children and parent/caregivers in developmentally appropriate activities.
• Lead a circle time using interactive reading techniques and facilitate music and movement.
• Engage with all children and their families during every playgroup.
• Assist parents in accessing parenting information, family support services and community resources.
• Maintain a clean and organized environment.
• Collect data required by the grant.
• Attend and participate in staff meetings and trainings.
• Perform other job-related duties as required.
