Job summary

Daybreak seeks an Outreach Specialist for the RONI Project in Dayton, OH. This full-time role targets youth ages 14-21 experiencing housing instability, focusing on outreach, intake, safety planning, crisis intervention, and follow-up to reduce runaway episodes.

You will collaborate with caregivers, child welfare, schools, and community partners to provide trauma-informed, youth-centered services, housing connections, and supportive resources.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required, with 5 years in social services preferred.
• Or an Associate degree in social work, psychology, or related field with 2 years experience.
• Experience with youth, housing instability, or at-risk youth is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to runaway and missing youth calls from dispatch and agencies.
• Conduct street outreach to identify and engage youth.
• Provide triage and crisis intervention in shelters and community settings.
• Build trusting relationships using trauma-informed care and motivational interviewing.
• Complete intakes and HMIS documentation in a timely, accurate manner.
• Collaborate with Daybreak teams and external partners to connect youth to resources.
