Job summary

Discovery Ranch South is seeking mentors to support teenage girls in a therapeutic, experiential setting near Cedar City, Utah. Mentors guide healing journeys through structured activities such as horseback riding, hiking, and climbing, building meaningful relationships with students.

Strong teamwork and safety focus are essential. Starting pay is $17 per hour for all mentors, with opportunities for part-time or full-time hours.

Qualifications

• 19+ years of age
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Eligible to work in the USA
• Able to pass background check
• Able to pass motor vehicle record check
• Current Utah driver's license (within 30 days of employment)
• Works well within a team
• Strong problem-solving aptitude
• Good judgement
• Safety-oriented
• Firm, healthy boundaries
• Must be able to complete responsibilities under various weather conditions such as snow, ice, heat
• Must be able to adhere to physical demands of walking, running, lifting, hiking, and animal related activities

Responsibilities

• Help teenage girls in a therapeutic setting as they progress on their healing journey.
• Engage in experiential therapy activities like horseback riding, skiing, hiking and rock climbing.
• Build rapport with students through shared experiences; relationships are central to healing.
• Support a safe, structured environment and teamwork within the program.

Help teenage girls in a therapeutic setting as they progress on their healing journey. Located near Three Peaks Recreational Park and overlooking Cedar City, Utah, Discovery Ranch South is a relationship-based residential treatment center based in experiential therapy.

Experiential therapy activities include horseback riding, skiing, hiking, and rock climbing. Through these shared experiences, a mentor builds rapport with our students. These relationships are key to the healing process. Often the relationships formed with mentors are the most meaningful to our students and create deep and lasting change.
