Job summary

Midwest Center for Youth & Families in Indiana is seeking a Mental Health Technician (MHT) for PRN/per diem and full-time roles to support a DBT-based program for youth ages 10–18.

You will work in a 74-bed residential setting, ensure a safe environment, follow treatment plans, document behaviors, and assist with groups while maintaining boundaries.

The role offers weekend rotation and pay differentials for evenings and nights; both full-time 40 hours and PRN options are available.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred
• Prior behavioral health/psychiatric work experience required; 1 year in a psychiatric setting for ages 10–18 preferred
• College student pursuing behavioral health, psychology, nursing or human services preferred

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment
• Implement elements of the treatment plan and identified interventions
• Document and communicate client behaviors
• Follow clinical and unit programming
• Assist with patient groups and activities
• Provide DBT skills coaching with patients
• Maintain therapeutic boundaries and utilize crisis intervention techniques
