Job summary

American Foundation for Suicide Prevention is seeking a Programs Manager to lead and expand AFSP’s youth mental health and community outreach programs in North Carolina. You will recruit and train volunteers, implement approved programs, and collaborate with national teams to measure impact.

The role requires travel within NC, some evenings/weekends, and the ability to work remotely with a dedicated team. A bachelor’s degree and nonprofit experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum 2 years in community outreach or non-profit work.
• Experience coordinating volunteers and programs.
• Ability to work with diverse communities and partners.

Responsibilities

• Oversee programmatic efforts within designated geographic area.
• Recruit, train, and manage volunteers to deliver programs.
• Travel regularly within the service area and to events.
• Support budgeting and reporting for program activities.
• Report to Executive Director or Area Director and align with national initiatives.
• Coordinate trainings/presentations with volunteers and partners.
