Job summary

Impact Kids is seeking a highly motivated martial arts instructor to support our after-school and program sites across California. The role involves delivering daily martial arts instruction to students aged 4 to 18, applying the company curriculum, and maintaining a safe, engaging learning environment.

The ideal candidate will hold a black belt in karate or a compatible art, have 2+ years of experience with children, and be comfortable traveling between schools.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience working with children.
• Martial arts teaching experience (1–5 years) required.
• Black belt or equivalent rank in karate or a compatible martial art.
• Teaching certification preferred but not required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily martial arts instruction to students aged 4–18 with differing ability levels.
• Demonstrate techniques and explain principles, observe and give progress feedback.
• Group supervision focusing on behavior, safety, health and personal development.
• Ensure safety, teach safe training habits and enforce all rules and regulations.
• Organize and prepare daily lesson plans in a fun, creative manner.
• Use classroom management to create an inclusive, engaging environment.
• Collaborate with fellow Activity Specialists and serve as a positive role model.
• Follow the Impact Kids Code of Conduct and Core Values.
