YMCA of San Diego County is seeking a Youth Leader for Expanded Learning Programs (ELP). The role focuses on supervising participants, planning and implementing engaging activities, and collaborating with families and school staff to enhance student learning and leadership.
Requirements include being 18+, possessing a high school diploma or GED, and completing required certifications. The position is in-person with after-school hours and some county-wide travel as needed.
Under the supervision of the Site Supervisor, the Youth Leader – Expanded Learning Programs (ELP) is responsible for the direct supervision of program participants, and for the daily planning and implementation of expanded learning program activities. The Youth Leader collaborates with other team members, families, and school personnel to provide participants with academic support, enrichment activities, and other student programs that increase student skill building, encourage healthy choices and behaviors, promote diversity and equity, support youth voice and leadership, and increase overall academic achievement. The Youth Leader position requires high energy, dedication, patience, and a strong desire to mentor youth, strengthen families, and serve the community.
