Job summary

YMCA of San Diego County is seeking a Youth Leader for the ELOP program in Escondido, CA. You will supervise participants, plan and implement engaging activities, and collaborate with families, school staff, and partners to promote academic growth, healthy choices, and student leadership.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older and possess a high school diploma/GED.
• Fingerprint clearance from DOJ/FBI.
• TB test clearance within 60 days prior to employment or prior to working on a school site.
• Completion of Child Abuse Prevention training prior to working with program participants.
• CPR/AED and First Aid Certification (Adult and Child/Infant) obtained within 30 days of hire, from American Red Cross / American Heart Association / American Safety & Health Institute.

Responsibilities

• Actively supervise program participants, ensuring their guidance and safety at all times.
• Assist in planning, management, and implementation of age-appropriate program activities.
• Communicate in a positive and professional manner with participants, families, school personnel, and community partners.
• Collaborate with school personnel and program partners to align high-quality academic activities and coordinate student services.
• Provide positive behavior guidance supporting developmental, social-emotional, and physical needs of students.
• Ensure the program meets school district and YMCA requirements.
• Perform daily duties to maintain clean, organized, and safe spaces.
• Lead sports, games and curriculum activities and monitor youth behavior.

Education

High school diploma or GED

AA/AS degree or 48 college units or proficiency exam
