Job summary

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater San Diego is seeking a dedicated Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP) Group Leader to provide virtual and classroom instruction, tutoring and enrichment for students in the after-school program.

You will lead engaging activities for groups of 10–20 youth, develop daily lesson plans, ensure safety protocols, monitor attendance and collaborate with staff, volunteers and families to promote academic success, character development and healthy lifestyles.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old with a High School diploma or GED.
• A minimum of 48 college units or completion of the CAPE.
• Minimum of one year experience working directly with school aged youth.
• CPR and First Aid Certifications within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth; instruct, coach and direct varied activities.
• Ability to effectively communicate with youth, parents, staff, volunteers, and community partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead learning activities to develop academic, physical, and social skills.
• Ensure programs adhere to health and safety protocols.
• Supervise members and maintain a safe, positive atmosphere.
• Develop culturally relevant daily lesson plans and activities.
• Coordinate activities and evaluate program effectiveness.
• Plan and lead programs and activities for members; provide guidance and role modeling.
