Job summary

Oregon Youth Authority in Grants Pass, OR seeks a skilled Cook at the Rogue Valley Youth Correctional Facility to prepare nutritious meals for youth, follow menus, and ensure food safety and dietary requirements.

You will supervise and train youth in cooking, maintain meal records for the Federal Food Program, and help manage kitchen resources and inventory while supporting life-skills development.

Qualifications

• One year of experience as a cook in a food service facility.
• Certificate of Completion in culinary arts and/or Foods and Hospitality Service from a certified community college or technical school.
• This position requires a food handler's card and ability to obtain the county food handler's card within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Works independently while cooking, preparing and coordinating meals from OYA menus and recipes.
• Supervises and trains youth in custody in the preparation and serving of meals.
• Maintains required records of meals served and quantities prepared for the Federal Food Program.
