Job summary

Good Shepherd Services seeks an Internship & Career Coordinator to prepare students for internships and guide their career paths. The role partners with LTW sites, advocates, and employers to place youths in meaningful, supervised opportunities.

You will travel locally 1–2 times weekly for site visits, support diverse learners, and coordinate seminars on employment readiness within a youth-centered framework.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; at least 1 year experience with adolescents/youth in education/employment fields.
• Strong group facilitation or teaching skills.
• Statistical and narrative record keeping accountability.
• Ability to work with diverse staff and students and network with diverse employer constituents.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Candidates with Administrative, Hiring, Budgeting, Creating Workshops, Community Organizing and Community Partnership skills are encouraged to apply.
• Commitment to work from a strength-based, youth development perspective.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate skill/competency-building employment/internship prep classes and workshops for students in the LTW program.
• Provide job and career counseling to students.
• Support students’ growth with continuous feedback and resources to meet needs.
• Collaborate with advocate counselors and social workers.
• Recruit students for LTW internship opportunities.
• Monitor LTW students to improve internship retention.
• Develop internships (in person and remote) across diverse fields to match skills and maturity.
• Guide employers on maximizing internship experiences with adolescents.
