Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Western Territory is seeking a Youth Development Specialist to support Hilo Outreach/Prevention and Substance Use Prevention programs. You will work under the Program Coordinator to deliver curriculum-based prevention services to youth and families, and to maintain program outcomes across multiple contracts.

Ideal candidates hold a BA in Human Services or related field (or equivalent experience), possess a Hawaii driver’s license, and can pass required clearances.

Qualifications

• BA in Human Services or related field preferred with outreach experience.
• Valid Hawaii driver’s license and required clearances.
• Background checks including FBI/Criminal History and Salvation Army clearances.

Responsibilities

• Implements SPF to achieve program goals and contract requirements.
• Maintains Prevention Specialist certification through ADAD.
• Adheres to ADAD Ethics Code of Conduct.
• Delivers curriculum-based prevention/outreach programs to youth and families.
• Implements program requirements to meet contract outcomes.
• Coordinates community outreach and partnerships.
