Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Western Territory, Family Intervention Services in Hawaii, seeks a Youth Development Specialist (CBO) to provide intake, crisis intervention, outreach, case management, counseling and group activities for at‑risk youth. The role is non‑exempt, full‑time, under the Safe Place initiative and Community Based Residential Services.

You will collaborate with schools, families and community partners, maintain case records, monitor progress, and respond to crises as needed, under

Qualifications

• BA or A.S. in human services or related field with required experience, or equivalent combination.
• Valid Hawaii driver's license.
• TB clearance, Pre-Employment Medical Clearance, First Aid and CPR certification.
• DHS FBI/Criminal History & CAN, and Salvation Army background clearances.
• MVR driving record meeting Authorized Driving standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide community-based outreach services to at‑risk youth in schools, family settings, and community, connecting youth and families to resources and services.
• Provide crisis intervention services to youth and families.
• Perform intake/assessment, develop service plans, and provide appropriate services to youth and families.
• Implement life-skills focused group activities and career/employment development.
• Provide case management and assist families to utilize community resources.
• Maintain case records and prepare reports on activities and services.
• Be available during after hours and weekends to respond to crisis situations as needed.
