Job summary

The Center for Youth and Family Solutions is seeking a Residential Counselor to prepare and serve nutritious meals for youth in a residential setting and to assist with light cleaning in common areas. You will work with a strengths-based, youth-focused approach, ensuring compliance with health department, Child Nutrition Program, food safety, sanitation, and agency guidelines.

Typical day includes coordinating with the Food Service Supervisor, preparing dinners, serving meals, maintaining

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent (Required).
• Food Handler's Certification or Food Service Sanitation Manager Certification or obtain within 30 days of employment (Preferred).
• 1 year institutional cooking experience (Preferred).
• Completion of DCFS criminal background check and fingerprinting.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Obtain an insured vehicle and have at least three years of driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals to youth in a residential setting.
• Provide light cleaning support in designated common areas.
• Follow health department, nutrition program and agency guidelines.
• Maintain kitchen sanitation, record temperatures and logs.
• Assist with menu adherence and youth meal accommodations.
• Order food quantities when supervisor is absent.
• Document records and participate in required trainings.
