Job summary

Hoyleton Youth And Family Services in Illinois seeks a Youth Care Worker-Residential Cook to prepare meals for cottages and to support residents through CARE and TCI-guided programming. You will supervise youth, document interactions, and help implement daily therapeutic activities in a safe setting.

A high school diploma or GED is required; a Bachelor's degree in Human Services is preferred. Experience in food service is favorable, with physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and participate

Qualifications

• Food service sanitation certification (within 90 days)
• Basic first aid skills
• Ability to learn CARE practices and TCI techniques
• Maintain DCFS clearance requirements
• Provide empathetic youth engagement and supervision

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals and snacks adhering to menus and health standards
• Plan and order food and supplies; manage holiday meals
• Supervise cottage residents and support youth in developing cooking skills
• Record Medicaid-compliant therapeutic interactions and schedules
• Maintain kitchen sanitation and safety; conduct bed checks during overnight shifts
• Participate in trainings, supervision, and agency meetings
