Job summary

Thompson is seeking a dedicated Family Support Worker in Florida to transport youth to placements, school, and visits, while supervising parent visits. You will respond to crises, de-escalate tensions, and provide compassionate support on the road, working a rotating schedule that includes nights and weekends.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, with a preference for an AA, and at least one year in human services or childcare.

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED required; A.A. preferred.
Minimum 1 year of relevant human services or childcare experience.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license.
Clean driving record; at least 3 years of licensed driving.
Must pass drug screening and comprehensive background check.
Ability to work with high-need youth and families.

Responsibilities

Transport youth to/from out-of-home placements, to/from school, and to/from visits.
Supervise parent visits.
Manage crises, de-escalate situations, and provide supportive transportation.
Work hours vary with shifts; on-call nights and weekends may be required.
