Youth Opportunity is hiring a Youth Care Specialist in St. Augustine, FL to supervise 7-10 youth, ensure safety, and guide them toward long-term success. This role involves crisis intervention, daily reporting, and collaboration with treatment teams in a structured residential setting.

The position requires high school diploma and strong communication; CPR/First Aid certification during probation is required. Valid driver’s license and background checks apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework preferred.
• 2 years of experience with youth preferred (if no college coursework).
• Strong verbal communication and professional, non-patronizing interaction with youth.
• Ability to document clearly and objectively; group counseling skills.
• First Aid/CPR and crisis intervention certification during probation period.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor a group of 7-10 youth and ensure safety.
• Maintain security, conduct headcounts, and report incidents.
• Use group counseling, individual relationships, and crisis intervention when needed.
• Provide progress reports to treatment teams; participate in daily huddles.
• Support classroom teachers and reinforce education in living units.
• Document shift activities and daily population counts; communicate events to next shift.
