Job summary

Discvillage is seeking a Transport Support Specialist to provide safe transportation for individuals in care, including long-distance trips. You will assist case managers with referrals, and help schedule medical and dental appointments for children in care.

You will also educate families to raise awareness of child abuse and neglect, promote family stability, and ensure vehicle maintenance records are current.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in social, economic, health, rehabilitative, medical, nursing, child development, or child care settings.
• Must maintain a valid driver’s license and auto insurance according to state requirements.
• Professional demeanor, respect for authority, good interaction skills, and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Provide transport for individuals receiving services, including long-distance travel.
• Assist with completing service referrals, filing, and transportation of children to visitation and new placements.
• Educate families with information and training to increase awareness of child abuse and neglect and promote family stability.
• Assist with scheduling medical and dental appointments for children in care.
• Ensure transport vehicles are properly maintained and records on vehicle use are up to date.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent. Three years of experience working in a social, economic, health or rehabilitative, medical, nursing, child development, or child care setting. A college degree or vocational technical training from an accredited institution can substitute for some of the required experience. Must maintain a valid driver’s license and auto insurance according to state requirements. Must maintain a professional demeanor, respect for authority, exhibit appropriate interaction skills, and maintain confidentiality standards.

Salary Rate

$18.00 per hour
