Job summary

Anshe Sholom B'nai Israel Congregation in Chicago seeks a full-time Program Director to lead educational, communal, and social programming across ages. You will collaborate with the Executive Director, Rabbi, and lay-leaders to design and implement a dynamic menu of programs while coordinating youth, family activities, and adult programming.

Qualifications

• Excellent organizational and project management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience planning and executing programs, events, or educational initiatives.
• Ability to work with diverse age groups, including children, teens, families, and adults.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and Jewish holidays as needed.
• Familiarity with Jewish communal life and synagogue culture.

Responsibilities

• Lead Youth and Family Programming (55%), B'nai Mitzvah support (5%), and adult programming (40%), developing and delivering a vibrant program menu.
• Oversee and develop Shabbat morning groups curriculums for youth, recruit and supervise teen staff, and manage day-of logistics.
• Coordinate B’nai Mitzvah scheduling with families and local synagogues to avoid conflicts and ensure smooth ceremonies.
• Collaborate with committees and staff to support existing programs and create new initiatives.
• Create communications, including weekly newsletters, to promote programming and attendance.
