Job summary

Jewish Long Beach is seeking a Director of Children, Youth, & Camp to provide strategic and operational leadership for camp, afterschool, and youth programs. You will oversee program quality, enrollment growth, budgeting, and staff development, ensuring safety and a strong sense of belonging for families.

The role requires collaboration across departments, oversight of licensing compliance, and a visible presence with children, families, and community partners, all while aligning with Jewish

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education, recreation management, youth development, nonprofit management, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years in camp/youth/recreation/education program management.
• At least 2 years in a leadership or director-level role.
• Experience developing, implementing, and evaluating high-quality youth programs.
• Experience with budgets, enrollment goals, staffing plans, and operations.
• AC A standards and California licensing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for Camp and Youth programs, with goals for quality, enrollment, retention, and financial performance.
• Lead design, staffing, training, implementation, evaluation, and improvement of summer, break, and specialty camps.
• Oversee Afterschool, School Days Out, and other youth initiatives.
• Supervise and develop staff, including inclusion services across programming.
• Recruit, train, and retain seasonal teams with a culture of safety and belonging.
• Develop budgets, enrollment projections, pricing, revenue goals, and staffing models.
