Job summary

Alexander Youth Network is seeking a Youth Engagement Specialist to support youth and young adults at the On Ramp Resource Center. You will serve as the primary contact for participants, assisting with housing, education, employment, health, safety, and community navigation.

Responsibilities include intake assessments, mentoring, managing daily workshops, and supervising access to basic needs areas during meal times. A High School diploma and NC driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• High School degree required.
• Two years’ experience in the human service field, working with young adults is preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications preferred.
• Valid NC Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the daily operation of the On Ramp Resource Center and serve as the main point of contact for participants and community members.
• Connect with youth/young adults who seek assistance with housing, education, employment, health and safety, and community navigation.
• Conduct intake assessments, provide support and mentoring to help participants achieve their goals.
• Manage daily workshops and open/monitor participant use of basic needs areas (kitchen, shower, laundry).

The Relatives On Ramp Resource Center is open Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm. The Youth Engagement Specialist serves on a team as the main point of contact for program participants and community members. The Youth Engagement Specialist’s primary responsibility is to connect with, and be a support to, youth/young adults who come to On Ramp seeking assistance with housing, education, employment, health and safety and community navigation. This includes the following job functions, assisting with intake assessments, providing support and mentoring young adults in achieving their goals, managing daily workshops, and opening & monitoring participant use of the basic needs areas - the kitchen during meal times, the shower facility, and the laundry room.A full job description can be provided to interested/qualified candidates.Education and ExperienceHigh School degree required.Two years’ experience in the human service field, working with young adults is preferred.Proficiency in MS Office applications preferred.Valid NC Driver's License
