Job summary

Greenbayymca in Green Bay, WI is seeking a Youth Outreach Specialist to deliver mission-driven programs for youth ages 8–14 under the Youth Outreach Director. You will create an inclusive environment that promotes personal growth, belonging, and YMCA core values.

You will lead activities that stimulate the mind, body, and spirit, build positive character, and collaborate with schools and staff to expand programming while ensuring safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education preferred.
• Minimum 6 months of experience with youth 10–18; 1 year with youth 14–20 preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required.
• Y-USA Leader Certification within 6 months preferred.
• Experience using audio/visual and media capture equipment preferred.
• Strong organizational, administrative, and facilitation skills required.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certifications required within 60 days of hire (training provided).
• Awareness of current youth/teen culture and ability to relate to them.
• Strong communication skills adaptable to diverse audiences.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging lessons and activities using curriculum to develop new skills, knowledge, and confidence in youth.
• Foster authentic relationships with youth through positive behavior, listening, and encouragement.
• Facilitate diverse program offerings including physical play, creative exploration, and SEL for holistic development.
• Encourage positive behavior with consistent expectations, feedback, and praise.
• Evaluate and share feedback on programming to refine lessons for youth interests and needs.
• Collaborate with department leaders and schools to update curriculum reflecting community needs.
• Partner with staff and volunteers to ensure a safe, inclusive environment where all feel respected.
• Maintain a safe environment by inspecting equipment and addressing hazards.
• Complete administrative reports on time, including mileage and program updates.
• Support growth by helping expand programming into new schools and communities.
