Job summary

Buckner Children and Family Services – Family Hope Center Program in Dallas, TX is seeking a Child and Youth Coordinator. You will help raise awareness for the Buckner Family Hope Center and inspire confidence, aspiration, and resilience in youth and children while developing thriving programs on-site.

Responsibilities include coordinating on-site and community resources, organizing events, building partnerships with schools and local agencies, and supporting children’s leadership opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Minimum two years prior related experience.
• Minimum one-year prior related experience providing community based services for youth and children.
• Fluency in English and Spanish as required.
• Willingness to obtain CPR, First Aid and specialized activity training.
• Proficient knowledge of local youth and community resources.
• Understanding of applicable regulatory standards for programs and services.
• Ability to drive with a valid license and provide proof of liability insurance; age 21+.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and sustain activity for periods of time.

Responsibilities

• Discuss needs of children and youth with Family Coach and connect empowerment resources through local agencies and volunteers.
• Assist youth and children in accessing on-site programs and other community services; accommodate varied capabilities.
• Develop and manage a system to coordinate on-site and off-site programs and improve communication among sponsors.
• Support program in developing leadership opportunities and enrollments, including school enrollment.
• Build relationships with institutions and community organizations to guide program development and implementation.
• Assess needs, research models, recruit local programs to address concerns identified.
• Coordinate regular events at the Family Hope Center: sports camps, youth leadership, children camps, and Vacation Bible Schools.
• Organize and coordinate a comprehensive children and youth program with area schools.
• Maintain a master calendar of volunteer and campus activities; distribute notices to staff.
• Coordinate acquisition and distribution of in-kind donations; document and thank donors.
