Job summary

Spectrum Youth & Family Services in Burlington, VT is seeking a Youth Coach to join the Basic Needs Program in the Supported Housing Program. This part-time role requires evening shifts and weekends, nonexempt status, and pays $21.63 per hour plus a $2.00 shift differential.

You will help Transitional Aged Youth (TAY) ages 16-23 access basic needs, learn independent life skills, and work with a team of professionals.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Knowledgeable about issues facing Transitional Aged Youth and homelessness.
• Knowledgeable or willing to learn life skills work (meal prep, budgeting, cleaning, personal hygiene, job readiness).
• Ability to build relationships with diverse populations and work both independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Maintain shelters as a safe, clean, accessible space for youth aged 16-23.
• Support residents in learning independent life skills and achieving service plan goals.
• Provide basic needs items (hygiene, meals, clothing) and community connections.
• Offer supportive engagement, brief and crisis interventions per Spectrum trainings.
• Coordinate resources and referrals with Housing Case Manager and Spectrum services.
• Assist in designing youth activities, field trips, and groups.
