Job summary

JEVS Human Services Career Center is seeking a Placement Counselor to support the Program Director and Career Navigator with program operations and business engagement. You will help establish and nurture relationships with employers for work experience activities with youth participants and assist with career readiness activities.

The role emphasizes startup, implementation, and continuous improvement of the program, with a hybrid schedule requiring at least 3 days onsite per week.

Qualifications

• Maintain knowledge of TANF and PA Department of Public Welfare regulations.
• Prepare periodic written reports, both statistical and narrative.
• Participate in supervisory, team, and division meetings.
• Contribute to contract compliance and achievement of program goals.
• Assist in program start-up, implementation, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with staff to provide community service sites, job search, and job placement activities.
• Place clients in community service sites and jobs to meet contract goals.
• Use assessment results and software for job development, matching, and placement.
• Identify area employers with potential job openings.
• Arrange on-site employer presentations monthly and facilitate workshops as needed.
• Develop job leads and set up interviews with employers.
• Verify placements within two weeks of job start date.
• Market services to employers via phone and personal contacts.
