Job summary

New Reach, Inc. in Connecticut is seeking a full-time on-site Youth Employment Specialist to help young adults 18–24 experiencing homelessness or housing instability gain skills and stable work.

You will provide job readiness, resume building, interview coaching, and individualized employment plans, collaborating with case workers and community partners to connect youth with opportunities and supports for long-term independence.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Human Services or an Associate's Degree with 3 years relevant experience.
• Minimum 3 years providing employment services.
• Experience serving people experiencing homelessness with serious mental illness and/or substance use disorder.

Responsibilities

• Engage clients using a PYD approach to empower long-term employment success.
• Meet clients in person at homes, shelters, and community sites to deliver supports.
• Provide resume building, interview prep, and employment skill-building.
• Develop individualized employment plans with youth and coordinate with the assigned case worker.
• Conduct job development and job search activities aligned with PYD opportunities.
• Support youth in contacting employers, submitting applications, and exploring career options with confidence.
• Coordinate with community providers to bring trainings and resources to clients.
• Provide ongoing support to help youth maintain employment and build vocational identity.
• Support case management to ensure coordinated care and stabilization pathways.
• Accurately enter service data and notes into HMIS per timelines and standards.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners for a youth-driven continuum of support.
