Job summary

The NYC Law Department seeks a dedicated Community Coordinator for the Family Court Division to supervise, plan, implement and evaluate community development programs across city neighborhoods.

The ideal candidate will support Diversion programs, build partnerships with community groups and the NYPD, coordinate events, and analyze feedback to improve practice, including engaging with victims services and tracking trends. Citywide travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and two years of community work or related activity, or high school diploma and six years of related experience, with at least one year of experience as described in '1' above.

Responsibilities

  • Diversion programs: assist attorneys in screening cases for Diversion eligibility and track youth progress in Diversion programs.
  • Build and develop relationships with community groups, NYPD, clergy, elected officials to serve the youth and community.
  • Coordinate community events and serve as office representative at events.
  • Coordinate with victims services and analyze witness feedback to improve practice.
  • Track gang/crew trends to support investigations and service needs in communities.
  • Analyze precinct crime trends to determine service needs in communities.
  • Identify reasons for case declinations to determine outreach needs.
