Job summary

Replications, Inc. is seeking a Youth Development and Wellness Lead to partner with schools and our teams to advance student well-being and attendance using tiered supports.

You will develop and facilitate interventions, build strong relationships with students, families, and staff, and track progress to inform targeted actions. Based in the Bronx, NY, this full-time exempt role requires DOE fingerprinting and bilingual Spanish skills, with a focus on fostering a positive climate and inclusive,

Qualifications

  • Experience working with youth facing behavioral, social-emotional, or other barriers to school engagement and their families.
  • Experience organizing and facilitating youth support groups.
  • Strong relationship-building and interpersonal communication skills with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Strong proactive communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to engage and motivate students using developmentally appropriate and strength-based approaches.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a school-based team and contribute to shared goals.
  • Familiarity with restorative practices and principles.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative over assigned tasks.
  • Bilingual Spanish speakers are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide developmentally appropriate social, emotional, and behavioral support to students through individual check-ins and other targeted supports.
  • Facilitate youth groups focused on positive development, self-awareness, social-emotional skills, peer relationships, and problem-solving.
  • Build supportive relationships with students that promote student voice, engagement, self-advocacy, and connection to the school community.
  • Gather information about student and family strengths, needs, barriers, and existing supports to inform appropriate interventions, resources, and referrals.
  • Document interventions, progress, and follow-up in accordance with Replications’ expectations and procedures.
  • Recognize when student needs require additional support and coordinate appropriate consultation, referrals, and follow-up with school-based and community resources.
  • Apply cultural humility and a human rights framework when developing and implementing student supports, recognizing the influence of students’ identities, experiences, culture, and broader social conditions on their well-being and school experience.
  • Identify students who are chronically absent or at risk of chronic absenteeism and develop targeted, student-centered strategies to improve attendance and engagement.
  • Collaborate with school teams to develop and implement universal attendance strategies, including incentives and engagement initiatives, that promote consistent attendance and address barriers to school participation.
  • Use relevant student attendance, behavioral, and school climate data to inform intervention planning and assess progress toward identified goals.
  • Support teams in using shared problem-solving, communication, and data-informed practices to address student and schoolwide needs.
  • Incorporate student voice and feedback into school climate, wellness, SEL, and other schoolwide initiatives.

Position Overview

The Youth Development and Wellness Lead (YDWL) works collaboratively with school and Replications teams to advance school improvement under the Community School Model. The YDWL is responsible for developing, facilitating, and monitoring interventions that support students’ social-emotional and behavioral development by applying tiered supports and facilitating developmentally appropriate student wellness strategies. Through a student-centered and relationship-based approach, the YDWL promotes a positive school climate where students are valued, heard, and supported, and where their voices and experiences inform the development of a caring school community.

The YDWL supports school improvement efforts by strengthening strategies that promote student attendance, engagement, and positive school experiences. In collaboration with school and Replications teams, the YDWL fosters high-performing teams by strengthening communication, coordination, and shared approaches to supporting students and advancing schoolwide goals.

The YDWL will report directly to the Community School Director.

Key Responsibilities
